Autumn On My Mind

Wings

The birdie on the wall is almost finished, I painted the wings a couple of days ago
and I'm waiting for it to dry completely before adding all the white details.
My finger is completely healed, the mud worked like a charm. Manolo was right :)

Plumeria

I went with Manolo to buy some things from a little hardware store near here
yesterday afternoon and there was the most beautiful Red Plumeria tree in bloom
just outside the shop. I brought a couple of buds home and made a quick watercolor sketch with a dark navy background on my new hand●book journal.

Chalkboard

I painted a chalkboard in the studio today using this recipe.
I just finished priming it with chalk and I'll clean it with a barely damp cloth tomorrow and it will be ready to use.

Progress Report

I wanted to finish it today but I burned the middle finger on my right hand while making curry and the bulky bandage made it a bit challenging to hold the brush.
Manolo insisted I let him put some mud on the burn and it really works
...it took the pain away almost instantly :)
I'm hoping to finish it over the weekend. Hope you have a good one!

Bird on the wall

Another fantastic creature came to visit this morning.
This time it was on the outside of our bedroom window.
It was around 3 inches from head to tail! So, so cool!
Today I've finally started to paint the bird on the wall.
I had to prime the birdie outline with acrylic gesso first to smooth out the surface
and fill in all the tiny cracks and crevices of the concrete.
I'm going to use Windsor & Newton oils to paint it later today.

Cozy Bundles

All the painted rocks I sold are now cozily bundled
in their 'Geninne style' Furoshiki cloths and ready to fly to their new homes.

Fourteen...Seven to go.

These are a couple of photos I took of the cactus nursery we visited last weekend.

Stones Update

I'm painting these with acrylics and a couple of very fine round brushes.
They're sealed with a matte varnish.
A bunch of them will be available for purchase in my Etsy shop this Friday.
